La Cocina de Doña Esthela

La Cocina de Doña Esthela (Lady Esthela's Kitchen) is a rustic restaurant in Valle de Guadalupe that is off the main roads, and well worth the drive.

Enter from the El Tigre-El Porvenir road, the first turn is between the paved shortcut to Route 3 and where the road crosses the river.  Going toward Porvenir, the first turn is after the second tope (speed bump).  Follow this road till it ends at a tee and turn left.  It's about a mile from the paved road.  In dry weather, it's OK with a car, during rains, be aware it may be muddy.  There are signs on the paved road and unpaved roads directing you there.  It is just across from La Lomita winery, so if you see signs for that you can also follow those.

Beer and wine are limited.  One party, that arrived after us, brought their own wine and wine glasses and were accommodated.

Time: 30-60 minutes

Hours: Open 7 days a week.  Thursday-Sunday they feature roasted lamb.  The day we arrived at 7:30pm, there was a sign on the door that said "Closed".  We asked if they were closed, and she said they were open for us!  After that, two other parties came in and were served, even though the sign said the same.

Cost: Inexpensive
