Discover the Best of Baja...

Finca Altozano

Relax, enjoy some wine, savor some of the best food anywhere and take in the breathtaking scenery of the Valle de Guadalupe.  All this is just down the road from Route 3, the wine route.

Tijuana Chef Javier Plascencia has created a magical mix of place, time and flavors called Finca Altozano, in English it means "Hill Farm".  It's a well-chosen location and concept.

The menu features sustainable products from the Guadalupe Valley, expertly prepared and grilled over a mesquite wood fire.  The environment is relaxed, the service is attentive, the food is extraordinary.  You will find yourself amazed at the time passing so quickly.  Our party dined and conversed and relaxed for almost three hours.  It seemed like 45 minutes.

In addition to extraordinary food, they feature an extensive wine list and many varieties of artisanal beers brewed in Baja California, or if you bring your own wine there is a reasonable corkage fee.  The property has several converted huge wine barrels that have been made into elevated banquette seating for relaxing and enjoying a glass of wine and the scenery.

Rancho Reynoso to La Loma

Sometimes the journey is more important than the destination.  On a sunny afternoon, Señor Sabrosisimo and Señora Adora took off in Adora's all-wheel-drive SUV.
